FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was limited during practice Thursday with what the team designated as a right shoulder issue.

It is unclear when the shoulder began to bother Brady, who was not mentioned on the team's practice participation report on Wednesday.

Brady did appear to be dealing with some discomfort on his right throwing hand during Sunday's Week 7 loss to the New York Jets, though he downplayed the issue in an interview with WEEI sports radio in Boston, saying, "I'm like everybody; there's just bumps and bruises that happen over the course of the football season.

"We'll just get treatment like always, be out there, and try to go out and execute as well as I can next week. It's just part of football."

Brady isn't a stranger to the injury report.

As recently as Week 16 of last season, he appeared on the injury report because of a right shoulder issue, something that has limited him in practices during previous seasons.

And while he's had limited practice reps at times during recent seasons, he hasn't missed game action; he's started in 71 consecutive regular-season games dating back to the start of the 2009 season.

The addition of Brady to the Patriots' injury report was the only change for the team, as wide receiver Danny Amendola (concussion/groin) and cornerback Aqib Talib (hip) headlined a group of nine players besides Brady who were limited.

Defensive tackle Tommy Kelly (knee) and running back Leon Washington (ankle) were the only absences from practice. Neither has practiced since leaving the Week 5 games thanks to injuries.
