METAIRIE, La. -- New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham returned to practice on a limited basis Friday for the first time since suffering a foot injury in Week 6 at New England.
Graham is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills, which will probably come down to a pregame evaluation.
Saints coach Sean Payton declined to elaborate on Graham's chances of playing. But Payton did say a day earlier that Friday would "be an important day" in determining Graham's status. So it was a good sign that he was able to participate in team drills on a limited basis. Friday was the first day Graham did any team or individual drills all week.
Most likely, the Saints will test Graham out on the field Sunday morning before making a final decision on his status. Graham was not available for comment Friday.
Graham is one of four key Saints players listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Running back Mark Ingram (toe) is also listed as questionable after returning to practice for the first time Friday. Defensive end Cameron Jordan (ankle) and right tackle Zach Strief (ankle) are officially listed as questionable, but their chances seem even better after they practiced on a limited basis both Thursday and Friday.
Receiver Lance Moore (hand) is listed as probable to return for the first time since Week 3 -- good news for the Saints, especially if Graham is out or limited.
