Parker, Sykorova win rifle 3P titles
BANGKOK -- Jason Parker of the United States won gold in the 50-meter rifle 3 positions, his first medal after 14 years of trying at the World Cup final.
Parker, a four-time Olympian, finished with a 1,266.5 points, three better than Han Jin-seop of South Korea. Ole Kristian Bryhn of Norway was half a point behind for the bronze.
Parker was always a finalist in the season-ending event but never a medalist.
"I have been competing in World Cup Finals since 1998 and dreaming of a gold medal since then," Parker said. "It's finally around my neck and it feels great."
London Olympics bronze medalist Adela Sykorova won gold, the first medal for the Czech in three World Cup Finals.
Silwia Bogacka of Poland, the Olympic silver medalist in air rifle, was second. The Beijing Olympic champion, Du Li of China, was third.
