Stars from NFL, sports and entertainment world salute retiring Peyton Manning

The Peyton Manning era in the NFL has come to an end.

The former No. 1 overall pick announced his retirement Monday in Denver, closing out an 18-year career with the Colts and Broncos that culminated on the field with a Broncos win over the Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

Manning, who won five MVP awards and set numerous other records, including four Super Bowl appearances with four different coaches, left an indelible imprint on the game, earning him the respect of his peers and coaches around the league.

With news of his retirement, support and admiration cascaded in from around the sports and entertainment world with tributes for one of the game's all-time greats.
