Following 3-D announcements by both Sony and EA Sports, 2K Sports announced today that they are releasing a special 3-D version of "NBA 2K11" exclusive to the PlayStation 3.

The 3-D version of the game will be sold only through Best Buy starting November 16, but gamers who buy this version of the game will need a 3-D TV and 3-D glasses in order to see the effects.

In addition, current owners of "NBA 2K11" for the PlayStation 3 will be able to download an upgrade to enable their games to play in 3-D for free from the PlayStation Store starting in January 2011.

"The authentic broadcast presentation of 'NBA 2K11' is something we're really proud of," said Greg Thomas, president of product development for 2K Sports via press release. "The new 3D capabilities literally add a new dimension to the experience and provide a level of immersion that has never been experienced in a basketball video game."
