Hornets sign F Lynch to contract extension
Terms were not disclosed.
Lynch, who turns 33 in September, is best known for his defensive ability, covering both shooting guards and small forwards.
The 6-8 Lynch started in 32 games last season, during which the Hornets were 20-12. In those games, he averaged 7.1 points and 6.0 assists. Overall, he averaged 4.5 points and 4.4 rebounds in 81 games.
"George has been a key contributor to the success of our team for the last two seasons," said Hornets executive vice president of operations Bob Bass. "He has solidified our bench with his defense, hustle and all-around play and has done an outstanding job when he's called upon to start."
A 10-year veteran, Lynch was acquired by the Hornets from the Philadelphia 76ers shortly before the 2001-02 season in a three-team trade.
