NEW YORK -- Comments on the Miami Dolphins by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 22) -- Made strides.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 20) -- Joe Philbin has built a solid foundation, starting with Ryan Tannehill.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 22)

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 18) -- Tannehill showed he can play in this league.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 21) -- Ryan Tannehill shows enough in a mostly promising rookie season to provide hope for the future.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 19) -- Rookie Ryan Tannehill threw only two interceptions in the final six games and the Dolphins defeated Seattle and were competitive in losses to New England and San Francisco during that stretch.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 22) -- The Dolphins have cap room, a quarterback they believe in and a second-place finish. Consider that a start.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 22) -- If Ryan Tannehill doesn't take a big leap forward, the Fins are going nowhere.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 21) -- It looks like Tannehill is good enough to build around but it isn't a lock at this point that he can be good enough to compete with Tom Brady's team next year. The Club hired the right coach in Joe Philbin. Go get Greg Jennings in the off season.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 21) -- First year coach Joe Phibin did a nice job with the Dolphins in 2012. QB Ryan Tannehill impressed and looks to be the real deal. He needs an infusion of talent at the wide receiver position to shine in 2013.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 20) -- A surprisingly decent season ended on a down note with a 28-0 shutout loss at New England.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 20) -- They missed the playoffs for the tenth time and 11 years. Now it's time to go get Ryan Tannehill someone to throw to.
