Remember a couple dreary winters ago when the Red Sox put in a $50 million bid to negotiate with Dice-K, landed him, and then quietly, the Yankees grabbed Kei Igawa as a "good value" response? Aside from the hilarity of the Yankees making a "value" move were two questions: the mystery of just how Matsuzaka would perform, and if the Yankees had really made a clever move. We know now that Dice-K was worth every penny and that Igawa wasn't worh the coin, or even the yen.
