The game changed when ESPN 3D—the world�s first 24/7 all-sports 3D channel—launched with the 2010 FIFA World Cup. ESPN 3D is now available to nearly 75 million homes in the U.S. through carriage agreements with DIRECTV, Comcast, Bright House Networks, Cablevision, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS TV, COX, Google Fiber and Charter. It is available internationally in Australia with select programs available from other distributors throughout the world.

- Do I need to buy a new TV so I can watch ESPN 3D?
  
  Possibly not. Many new televisions are already 3D-capable. If you�ve bought a TV in the last two years, check the owner�s manual. If you�re in the market for a new TV, you�re in luck � a new 3DTV also works as an HD television.
  
  Will a 3D TV only show 3D?
  
  A 3D TV is a high-quality HD set as well. You have tremendous flexibility after you buy a 3D-capable set. You can watch crisp and clear HD pictures, or you can watch stunning 3D.
  
  What are the different types of 3D glasses?
  
  There are two types of 3D technologies: active and passive. Basically, the difference is where the 3D technology is physically located. It can be in either the screen or in the glasses. When it�s in the screen, the technology is referred to as passive (this is how movie theaters work). When the technology is in the glasses, it�s called active or active-shutter. The glasses are not interchangeable. Active screens work with the set�s active glasses, and vice versa. Movie theater glasses can be used on your home television, if the technology is passive. ESPN 3D can be viewed on both active and passive sets.
  
  When will 3D be available without the glasses?
  
  Electronics companies have announced glasses-less 3D televisions will be available soon. Mobile phones, tablets and laptops that don�t require glasses are currently available.
  
  Can I watch ESPN 3D from my laptop, tablet or mobile device?
  
  ESPN 3D isn�t currently available on laptops, tablets or mobile devices, but we�re exploring the possibility.
  
  I have a 3D TV. Now what?
  
  Install your 3D-capable television set and make sure you have your 3D glasses.

  ESPN 3D is currently available to Bright House, Cablevision, Comcast, DIRECTV, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FIOS TV, COX, Google Fiber and Charter subscribers. If your current video provider doesn�t offer ESPN 3D, you can call them directly to request the channel.
  
  Will ESPN 3D work with all types of 3D TVs?
  
  Yes, ESPN 3D can be seen on any 3D-capable television, provided you�ve called your video provider to enable the service.
  
  Do I need a different set top box to watch ESPN 3D?
  
  Probably not. ESPN 3D can be viewed with a variety of set top boxes (frequently known as cable boxes or satellite receivers), including many popular boxes currently in lots of homes. Call your video provider to confirm.
