A history-making week?
Snowboarder Shaun White and speedskater Shani Davis could make history this week as the first American men to win three straight gold medals in the same event at the Winter Olympics. White, who dropped out of the slopestyle last week, will turn his sole focus to defending his halfpipe title on Tuesday. Davis has won back-to-back golds in the 1,000 meters and will try to complete the three-peat on Wednesday. He also is the reigning two-time silver medalist in the 1,500-meter race. Bonnie Blair is the only American woman who has accomplished the feat, winning the 500-meter speedskating at the 1988, 1992 and 1994 Olympics.
