Team Canada had a lot to celebrate after Wednesday's come-from-behind win over the United States.

With its 3-2 win over the United States on Wednesday in the preliminary round, the Canadian women's hockey team extended its Olympic winning streak to 18 games. The streak includes taking home the last three gold medals and three consecutive wins over the United States. The Canadians last lost in the gold-medal game in 1998 against the U.S. Three players on the current roster have been a part of the streak in its entirety -- Caroline Ouellette, Jayna Hefford and Hayley Wickenheiser. Wednesday marked the first meeting in the preliminary between the rivals since 1998. The Americans have won five of the last seven non-Olympic meetings against their northern neighbors. Both teams return to action on Monday in the semifinal round. The gold- and bronze- medal games will be played Feb. 20.
