Skylar Diggins and No. 1 seed Notre Dame open the tourney against Liberty on Sunday.

[Editor's note: Skylar Diggins returns as a NCAA tournament blogger for espnW. Here is her first entry, fresh off Notre Dame's Selection Monday meeting.]

5:17 p.m.: Hey everyone! I just got back to the Purcell Pavilion after a nice little break, but now it's time to get back to work. The team and I are anxiously awaiting the Selection Show, so we can finally know who we play on Sunday! Fingers crossed for a good draw! Go Irish! ... Mmmuah!

8:12 p.m.: Just found out! Just finished watching the Selection Show with the team and we are a No. 1 seed! It was a special time, sharing the night with our fans and coaches in Club Naimoli at the Purcell Pavilion. Now, we're ready to get back to business and get ready for Liberty on Sunday.

The high seed shows we had a great year and worked really hard, and now the team and I are excited to improve upon our performance. We had some good moments at the Big East tournament, but we also took away some valuable lessons and know what we need to improve on in order to get ready for the tournament. Sunday is still a long time away, and I wish we could get on the court and play tomorrow, but we will have a whole week of practice to get ready for the journey ahead.

I'm glad we get to start off at home for the first two rounds because I know it means a lot to our fans to be a part of the tournament experience, as well as see our seniors play another two games at the Purcell Pavilion.

I am excited to check in with you all tournament long! Tweet me at @SkyDigg4 if there is anything you want to know about our NCAA journey!
