Before scoring 51 on Sunday, Riquna Williams' previous career high was 28 points against Phoenix on June 16.

On Sunday, Riquna Williams of the Tulsa Shock set a WNBA record for most points in a game when she scored 51 in a 98-65 win over the San Antonio Silver Stars. Williams was 17 for 28 from the field and hit eight 3-pointers. For the season, Williams is averaging 15.8 points per game. In the NBA, Wilt Chamberlain holds the record for most points in a game, scoring 100 on March 2, 1962, in a 169-147 Philadelphia win over the Knicks. In NCAA women’s basketball, Jackie Givens of Division II Fort Valley State holds the single-game scoring record. She scored 67 points in a 126-76 win over Knoxville on Feb. 22, 1991. In NCAA men’s basketball, Jack Taylor of Division III Grinnell set the record when he scored 138 points on Nov. 20, 2012, in his team’s 179-104 victory over Faith Baptist Bible.
