World Television Day really exists

Go big or go home. Either way, be sure to celebrate World Television Day.

Today is World Television Day! We are as thrilled as you to know that this is an actual holiday. The United Nations proclaimed the day during a 1996 General Assembly to recognize the “increasing impact television has on decision-making by bringing world attention to conflicts and threats to peace and security.” While they clearly forgot to mention sports as part of their proclamation, we’re sure it was simply an oversight. Now please go out and celebrate accordingly by watching hours and hours of television. Preferably ESPN, of course. And why just celebrate one day a year? Stay tuned! On Dec. 1 at 9:30 p.m., the NCAA volleyball tournament bracket will be announced on ESPNU.
