Flash's Carli Lloyd suspended 2 games

ELMA, N.Y. -- Two-time Olympic gold medalist and Western New York Flash midfielder Carli Lloyd has been suspended for two games by the National Women's Soccer League for using excessive force in a game against Chicago.

Lloyd was issued a yellow card for pulling down Red Stars midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo from behind by her jersey in the first half of the Flash's 1-0 loss at Chicago on April 19. As DiBernardo was going down, Lloyd then swung around and struck the Red Stars player in the ...
