Lauren Cox lifts Team USA to gold medal

Lauren Cox, the No. 1 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Terrific 25 for the 2016 class, scored 20 points to lead the United States to a 77-75 win over Spain in the gold-medal game at the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship on Sunday in the Czech Republic.

Cox, an undeclared 6-foot-4 forward, added 12 rebounds and a USA under-17 single-game record eight blocks. Asia Durr, the No. 2 prospect in the 2015 class, scored 17 points, and Arike Ogunbowale added 15 points and eight rebounds.
