Danica Patrick, Miranda Lambert hit it off

Danica Patrick is admittedly no fan of country music, no matter how much friend and Nationwide Series competitor Ricky Stenhouse Jr. attempts to sway her to his side of the radio dial. She did, however, find a "kindred spirit" in Miranda Lambert while shooting the Grammy winner's "Fastest Girl in Town" video in June. And she found herself star struck again, she said.

"Miranda was great," said Patrick, who co-starred with Dale Earnhardt Jr. in Jay-Z's "Show Me What You Got" video in 2006. "I appreciated her asking me. Every time somebody famous knows who I am I always say, "I can't believe you know my name." It's a funny thought. Maybe I sound silly, but it's still really cool when somebody famous like that knows who you are.

"She says, 'Oh, yeah, I totally know who you are.' She's like 'for weeks now it's me and my trainer, going to work out for Danica.' How did she say it? The 'Danica workout' or something. I was very flattered. She was really sweet. She's got a lot of pep and a lot of spark. She and I got along. I just feel like she and I are kindred spirits, and we'd be trouble together."

Brant James has covered the Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500, a World Series and Stanley Cup for the big hometown daily, an NCAA tournament and a Super Bowl. He's walked to the paddock with Kentucky Derby horses before post, ridden to the top of Mount Washington with Travis Pastrana and landed on an aircraft carrier with Dale Earnhardt Jr. He once induced Danica Patrick into a dance number from Moulin Rouge by saying the word "Switzerland." It's been pretty interesting so far.
