Seventh-grader commits to NC State

A seventh-grade girl from Raleigh, North Carolina, has given a verbal commitment to play women's basketball at NC State in 2019.

Jada Peebles, 13, starred on her middle school team as a sixth- and seventh-grader.

"I feel really good about my decision," she told the Charlotte News & Observer.

Peebles is the daughter of Danny Peebles, an NC State football legend who played three seasons in the NFL. Peebles, who also starred on the track, is best remembered in Raleigh for catching a Hail Mary pass in 1986 that gave NC State a last-second win over South Carolina.

"I was born and raised a State fan," Jada Peebles told the News & Observer. "I've always wanted to go to State."

NC State coach Wes Moore was named espnW's coach of the year in 2014 after his inaugural season leading the Wolfpack.
