Ohio State lands three recruits

Ohio State made the biggest splash of the summer recruiting season on Tuesday by landing a trio of players.

Kelsey Mitchell, the No. 4 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Super 60 for the 2014 class from Princeton (Cincinnati), gave a verbal commitment to coach Kevin McGuff and the Buckeyes.

Mitchell, a four-star 5-foot-9 point guard, will be joined by her twin sister, Chelsea Mitchell, a 5-11 wing, and fellow Ohio star Alexa Hart.

Hart, a 6-3 post from Africentric (Columbus, Ohio), is the No. 16 prospect in the class.

McGuff was named Ohio State's head coach in April after spending the previous two seasons at Washington. In May, McGuff hired the twins' father, Mark Mitchell, as an assistant coach.

The Mitchell sisters and Hart are Ohio State's first three commitments from the 2014 class.
