McKenzie Calvert reroutes to USC

New coach Cynthia Cooper and Southern Cal made a late splash on the recruiting front on Thursday when McKenzie Calvert, the No. 16 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100, gave a verbal commitment to the Trojans.

Calvert, a 5-foot-8 point guard, had originally committed to Baylor before reopening her recruitment this past spring.

Calvert joins Amy Okonkwo, a 6-2 post player and the No. 93 prospect in the nation; and Chyanne Butler, a three-star 5-5 point guard, in Cooper's 2014 class.

Calvert, a senior at Byron P. Steele II (Cibolo, Texas), chose USC over Texas A&M and Texas Tech.
