ICYMI: Ben Affleck abandoning Sox?
Forgot about sports completely on such a slow night or were too busy planning your Halloween costume? Have no fear, we've got you covered. Here's everything you missed last night.
Academy Award winner, tabloid staple and noted Boston superfan Ben Affleck was spotted in Missouri on Tuesday wearing … a Cardinals shirt. What the beard is going on here?
With the World Series getting underway tonight at Fenway, it seemed blasphemous for one of Boston's favorite sons to do such a thing. Thankfully, it turns out Affleck is just shooting "Gone Girl," in which he plays a St. Louis-area man who… I won't say more, just read the book. But I digress. While Affleck was clearly just doing his job, we all know Matt Damon never would have done this.
The Ben half of the defunct Bennifer weakly took to Twitter to defend himself.
A loaded question
NBA.com released its annual general manager survey results on Tuesday night in which all 30 GMs make predictions on the upcoming season. In the least surprising news since Kanye and Kim had a flashy and media-ready proposal, the Heat were chosen to win their third straight title and LeBron James was selected to win the MVP award.
While many of the questions were standard fare, one seemingly buried at the bottom of the survey has gotten a LOT of attention on social media. It reads: "Which player makes the most of limited natural ability?" What exactly is "natural ability," you ask? Kevin Love has a pretty strong opinion.
Steve Kerr had Love's back.
"@kevinlove: GM survey: Love is player who makes most of 'limited natural ability.'" Other than being 6-10, insanely strong w/velvet touch?— Steve Kerr (@SteveKerrTNT) October 22, 2013
Somewhere in Los Angeles, Steve Nash is consulting with Kobe Bryant on how to change his Twitter avatar to a picture of Larry Bird.
Can't watch the WTA Championships this week due that whole pesky having to work when it's on TV thing? Lucky for you, Victoria Azarenka has decided to post her own highlights of her matches and warm-ups on Instagram. Complete with music, slick editing and best of all, no grunting.
WWE Divas and E! reality stars Brie and Nikki Bella helped Jimmy Kimmel prank his security guard Adelina with a classic identical twin switcheroo. It's pretty much ripped from every single one of the 300 Mary-Kate and Ashley movies, but with shorter dresses and the occasional bleeped-out swear word.
If you're scratching your head wondering if staged wrestling counts as a sport, just know it was a really slow sports night.
