NEW YORK -- Kerri Walsh Jennings says she was pregnant when she won her third beach volleyball gold medal.

Walsh Jennings said on NBC's "Today" show Monday she is 11 weeks pregnant. That means she was already expecting her third child when she and Misty May-Treanor won the Olympic gold medal in London on Aug. 8.

The two Californians also teamed to win gold in Athens in 2004 and again in Beijing. Walsh Jennings has said her first son, Joey, was conceived before she and her husband, fellow beach volleyball pro Casey Jennings, left China.

Another son, Sundance, was born less than a year later.
