  • Dario Franchitti earned his fourth IndyCar title in 2011. Not content with sitting idle, Franchitti won the 2012 Indianapolis 500, his third career victory at the Brickyard. He has moved into a tie for second place on the all-time list for IndyCar championships.
  • Tony Stewart
  • Tony Stewart didn't win a race until it mattered most. He found himself in the winner's circle for five of the last 10 races, all five coming in the Chase format. Stewart became the first owner/driver to win the championship since the late Alan Kulwicki in 1992. With the win, Stewart became the third active driver with at least three NASCAR Cup Series titles.
  • Sebastian Vettel
  • In 2010, when Sebastian Vettel won the Formula 1 world title at the age of 23, he became the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history. Not content to rest on his laurels, Vettel attacked the 2011 season at full speed, winning 11 of 19 races and taking a record 15 pole positions. All that added up to a second world title, making him the sport's youngest double champion at 24.
  • Del Worsham
  • Del Worsham raced his way to the 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Championships and earned the NHRA Top Fuel title over Spencer Massey at the Auto Club Final in Pomona, Calif. Having accomplished his career goal, Worsham announced his retirement from the sport a week later.
