UFC officials announced Wednesday the two welterweights have verbally agreed to meet at UFC on Versus 4, scheduled for June 26 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
Kampmann (17-5) has lost back-to-back fights for the first time in his professional career. Prior to the controversial loss to Sanchez, he dropped a closely contested decision to Jake Shields at UFC 121.
Howard (14-6) is also looking to bounce back from consecutive losses. After winning his first four fights in the UFC, Howard came up short against Jake Ellenberger and Thiago Alves in the second half of last year.
The 28-year-old has never lost three consecutive fights in his professional career, dating back to 2004.
