Despite his run of lopsided victories, some fans still doubted Jones' dominance at 205 and were convinced Machida would knock him down a peg. But Jones needed just one round to figure out Machida's unorthodox karate style before going to work on the ex-champ in the second, using his superior reach to close the gap and avoid Machida's counter strikes. He'd eventually finish Machida against the cage via standing guillotine, giving rise to calls for a megafight between Jones and middleweight champ Anderson Silva, who many regard as MMA's all-time greatest.
