Take it from Nick Diaz, Gomi's punches can melt ya. The Japanese lightweight started out as a grind-'em-down wrestler, scoring just four finishes (two subs, two KOs) in his first 14 fights. Then, like some violent switch was flipped after Gomi lost consecutive fights to Joachim Hansen and B.J. Penn in 2003 and moved from Shooto to Pride, he started wrecking people with his fists (among other things).
