Updates/analysis (most recent first)

Marcedes Lewis inactive (3:02 p.m. ET): The Jacksonville Jaguars' official Twitter feed reports that TE Marcedes Lewis (calf, doubtful) is inactive. It's the second consecutive week in which he has sat, and he's also coming off a disappointing 2012 campaign. He can be safely cut in shallow leagues.

Cecil Shorts active (3:02 p.m. ET): The Jacksonville Jaguars' official Twitter feed reports that WR Cecil Shorts (groin, probable) is active. He was limited early in the practice week, though there was never any real indication that he'd sit this week. It'll be interesting to see whether having Chad Henne as his quarterback will bump up his fantasy value; for this week Shorts is our No. 23 wide receiver.

Sebastian Janikowski active (2:58 p.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that K Sebastian Janikowski (right calf, probable) is active. Janikowski is our No. 12 kicker for Week 2.

Tyvon Branch active (2:58 p.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that S Tyvon Branch (shoulder, probable) is active. Branch is Jim McCormick's No. 7 defensive back for Week 2.

Ryan Broyles inactive (2:55 p.m. ET): The Detroit Lions' official Twitter feed reports that WR Ryan Broyles (knee) is inactive. Broyles' situation is a somewhat puzzling one; he hasn't been on the team's official injury report in either of the first two weeks yet was inactive for both. The Lions have no reason to rush him as he recovers from knee surgery, but it's disconcerting that this looks more like a depth-chart than a health-related decision.

Duke Ihenacho active (2:54 p.m. ET): The Denver Broncos' official Twitter feed reports that S Duke Ihenacho (thigh, probable) is active. Ihenacho is Jim McCormick's No. 13 defensive back for Week 2.

Eric Decker active (2:54 p.m. ET): The Denver Broncos' official Twitter feed reports that WR Eric Decker (shoulder, probable) is active. Decker was the man left behind in the Broncos' Week 1 offensive outburst, and he was always the receiver we predicted third in the pecking order. That said, he still has big-play ability and there's a chance that he could see more targets this week than last. Decker is our No. 22 wide receiver for Week 2.

Wes Welker active (2:54 p.m. ET): The Denver Broncos' official Twitter feed reports that WR Wes Welker (ankle, probable) is active. Even in a loaded offense, Welker's targets remain among the most consistent in the game. He's our No. 13 wide receiver for Week 2.

Wesley Woodyard active (2:54 p.m. ET): The Denver Broncos' official Twitter feed reports that LB Wesley Woodyard (ankle, probable) is active. Woodyard is Jim McCormick's No. 13 linebacker for Week 2.

Da'Rel Scott active (2:51 p.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that RB Da'Rel Scott (knee, probable) is active. He's the Giants' de facto No. 2 running back, despite the recent addition of RB Brandon Jacobs, and it's worth at least tracking the team's backfield split this week even if it's not worth activating Scott in fantasy leagues.

Mikel Leshoure inactive (2:44 p.m. ET): The Detroit Lions' official Twitter feed reports that RB Mikel Leshoure (healthy scratch) is inactive. RB Joique Bell outplayed Leshoure during the preseason, then had a standout Week 1 to grab the No. 2 spot on the depth chart. Leshoure doesn't have any fantasy value in shallow leagues at this point.

Roman Harper active (2:38 p.m. ET): The New Orleans Saints' official Twitter feed reports that S Roman Harper (knee, questionable) is active. Harper's IDP owners who waited for this long catch a break. He is Jim McCormick's No. 17 defensive back for Week 2.

Curtis Lofton active (2:38 p.m. ET): The New Orleans Saints' official Twitter feed reports that LB Curtis Lofton (knee, probable) is active. Lofton is Jim McCormick's No. 24 linebacker for Week 2.

Marques Colston active (2:38 p.m. ET): The New Orleans Saints' official Twitter feed reports that WR Marques Colston (foot, probable) is active. Colston remains one of the two most targeted, reliable weapons in the Saints passing game. He's our No. 15 wide receiver for Week 2.

Reggie Bush active (2:36 p.m. ET): The Detroit Lions' official Twitter feed reports that RB Reggie Bush (groin, probable) is active. He was never at major risk to sit, so don't worry about his injury-report listing. Coming off an outstanding Week 1 and heavily involved in the Lions' passing game, Bush is our No. 12 running back for Week 2.

Andre Roberts active (2:35 p.m. ET): Darren Urban of the Arizona Cardinals reports that WR Andre Roberts (quadriceps, probable) is active. Some fantasy owners might have scooped up Roberts in the hopes that he might see an uptick in targets should Larry Fitzgerald sit; Fitzgerald, unfortunately for those people, is active. The No. 3 option in the Cardinals' passing game, Roberts is our No. 42 wide receiver for Week 2.

Ryan Williams inactive (2:32 p.m. ET): Darren Urban of the Arizona Cardinals reports that RB Ryan Williams
(healthy scratch) is inactive. This was the case last week as well; it's compelling evidence that Williams is buried on the team's running back depth chart. Williams' fantasy owners in shallow leagues can freely cut him.

Rashard Mendenhall active (2:32 p.m. ET): Darren Urban of the Arizona Cardinals reports that RB Rashard Mendenhall (hamstring, probable) is active. In other news, Ryan Williams is sitting yet again. Mendenhall remains a lower-tier fantasy option, hinging mostly upon touchdown potential. He's our No. 29 running back for the week.

Larry Fitzgerald active (2:31 p.m. ET): Darren Urban of the Arizona Cardinals reports that WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring, questionable) is active. Fitzgerald's fantasy owners can safely exhale; he is active as was hinted he'd be earlier in the day. It's unclear whether he'll require fewer snaps played or see fewer targets as a manner of maintenance, but after the Week 1 he had, we have no reason to doubt him even at less than full strength. He's our No. 7 wide receiver for Week 2.

Jamaal Charles active (12:08 p.m. ET): The Kansas City Chiefs' official Twitter feed reports that RB Jamaal Charles (quadriceps, probable) is active. He was a full practice participant on Friday, so there shouldn't be any serious injury concerns. Charles is our No. 4 running back for Week 2.

Dez Bryant active (12:05 p.m. ET): Bryan Broaddus of the Dallas Cowboys reports that WR Dez Bryant (foot, probable) is active. Bryant logged a good amount of practice time this week to alleviate any concern that he'd need to be benched by his fantasy owners. Consider him a top-10 option for Week 2.

Tony Romo active (12:05 p.m. ET): Bryan Broaddus of the Dallas Cowboys reports that QB Tony Romo (ribs, probable) is active. Romo is our No. 11 quarterback for Week 2; his injury report listing was more of a product of his having sustained it during the season opener rather than his having suffered any practice limitations.

Morris Claiborne active (12:05 p.m. ET): Bryan Broaddus of the Dallas Cowboys reports that CB Morris Claiborne (shoulder, probable) is active. He's active, but it's unclear just how much he'll be used. Per ESPN's Ed Werder, Orlando Scandrick might get the start in Claiborne's place. This should at least bump up the appeal of Chiefs' passing game options slightly.

Lance Dunbar active (12:05 p.m. ET): Bryan Broaddus of the Dallas Cowboys reports that RB Lance Dunbar (foot, probable) is active. Dunbar returns to action as DeMarco Murray's backup, and his usage bears watching this week even if he's not a recommended fantasy play in Week 2.

Domenik Hixon active (12:00 p.m. ET): The Carolina Panthers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Domenik Hixon (hamstring, probable) is active. He'll be making his Panthers debut and could see some time working out of the slot. Don't expect much in the way of fantasy production this week, however.

Jairus Byrd inactive (11:59 a.m. ET): The Buffalo Bills' official Twitter feed reports that S Jairus Byrd (foot, doubtful) is inactive. It's the second consecutive week in which Byrd sits.

Julius Peppers active (11:56 a.m. ET): The Chicago Bears' official Twitter feed reports that DE Julius Peppers (illness, probable) is active. Peppers is Jim McCormick's No. 13 defensive lineman for Week 2.

Charles Tillman active (11:56 a.m. ET): The Chicago Bears' official Twitter feed reports that CB Charles Tillman (knee, probable) is active. Tillman is Jim McCormick's No. 3 defensive back for Week 2; Tillman is one of the most productive IDP options out there.

Shonn Greene inactive (11:52 a.m. ET): The Tennessee Titans' official Twitter feed reports that RB Shonn Greene (knee, questionable) is inactive. With Greene sidelined, expect RB Jackie Battle to serve as the Titans' goal-line back. Sorry, RB Chris Johnson owners.

Bernard Pierce active (11:51 a.m. ET): The Baltimore Ravens' official Twitter feed reports that RB Bernard Pierce (thigh, questionable) is active. Pierce remains in a firm backup role to Ray Rice, and at this point is nothing more than a handcuff consideration for our purposes. He's our No. 40-ranked running back for Week 2.

Reshad Jones active (11:50 a.m. ET): The Miami Dolphins' official Twitter feed reports that S Reshad Jones (thumb, probable) is active. Jones is Jim McCormick's No. 19 defensive back for Week 2.

Garrett Graham active (11:49 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that TE Garrett Graham (hip, probable) is active. Graham isn't much of a fantasy option; he is our No. 28 tight end of Week 2.

Arian Foster active (11:49 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that RB Arian Foster (calf, probable) is active. Foster's workload has come into question as a result of his injury, as Ben Tate has been more involved than usual to keep Foster fresh. Nevertheless, Foster remains too valuable a touchdown source to sit; he's our No. 5 running back of Week 2.

Ben Tate active (11:49 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that RB Ben Tate (shoulder, probable) is active. Expect Tate to be fairly involved this week to keep starter Arian Foster fresh. Tate is our No. 33 running back for Week 2.

Brian Cushing active (11:49 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that LB Brian Cushing (knee, probable) is active. Cushing is Jim McCormick's No. 15 linebacker for Week 2.

J.J. Watt active (11:49 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that DE J.J. Watt (quadriceps, probable) is active. Watt, fantasy's top individual defender, was never at any serious risk of sitting out Week 2. Start him with confidence.

Owen Daniels active (11:49 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that TE Owen Daniels (back, probable) is active. Daniels is our No. 6 tight end for Week 2.

Jerrell Freeman active (11:44 a.m. ET): Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Colts reports that LB Jerrell Freeman (quadriceps, questionable) is active. Freeman is Jim McCormick's No. 18 linebacker for Week 2.

Dwayne Allen inactive (11:44 a.m. ET): Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Colts reports that TE Dwayne Allen (hip, doubtful) is inactive. Allen was downgraded to doubtful over the weekend, which made it clear that he wasn't likely to play. It's good news for TE Coby Fleener, who could pick up a few additional targets, however.

Zac Stacy inactive (11:40 a.m. ET): The St. Louis Rams' official Twitter feed reports that RB Zac Stacy (healthy scratch) is inactive. With RB Isaiah Pead back from suspension this week, Stacy is the odd man out of the Rams' four-man backfield. It's somewhat telling about Stacy's stock, however, as it means that RB Benny Cunningham is active as the No. 3 back (or a challenger to Pead for No. 2 duty). Stacy can be safely cut in shallow mixed leagues.

Jermichael Finley active (11:39 a.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that TE Jermichael Finley (toe, probable) is active. He had his toe checked out earlier in the week and was quoted per numerous sources as saying the injury was a "bit painful," but all seems fine today and there appear to be no lingering concerns. Finley is our No. 10 tight end for the week.

Kai Forbath inactive (11:38 a.m. ET): The Washington Redskins' official Twitter feed reports that K Kai Forbath (right groin, questionable) is inactive. This became inevitable after the Redskins signed K John Potter on Saturday, so Forbath's fantasy owners should've begun making fill-in preparations then. Potter isn't a recommended fill-in for this week; consider our kicker rankings as you seek a replacement.

Morgan Burnett inactive (11:36 a.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that S Morgan Burnett (hamstring, questionable) is inactive. For the second consecutive week, Burnett sits, which is devastating news to his IDP owners. He's usually a weekly fantasy play in the format.

Thomas DeCoud active (11:35 a.m. ET): The Atlanta Falcons' official Twitter feed reports that S Thomas DeCoud (knee, probable) is active. DeCoud is Jim McCormick's No. 24 defensive back for Week 2.

Chris Long active (11:34 a.m. ET): The St. Louis Rams' official Twitter feed reports that DE Chris Long (hip, questionable) is active. He was an injury report addition following a missed Friday practice, but the good news is that he's active nevertheless. Jim McCormick ranked Long his No. 19 defensive lineman for Week 2, so keep Long in your lineup.

Daryl Richardson active (11:34 a.m. ET): The St. Louis Rams' official Twitter feed reports that RB Daryl Richardson (foot, probable) is active. In other news, Zac Stacy is inactive but Isaiah Pead is active for his first game of 2013. It's unclear how the Rams will break down their carries this week, but expect Richardson to take on a somewhat lighter load in a challenging road matchup in Atlanta. We ranked Richardson our No. 22 running back for Week 2.

Roddy White active (11:26 a.m. ET): ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that WR Roddy White (ankle, questionable) is active for the Atlanta Falcons. He was limited to "decoy" status in Week 1, and after logging only a limited Friday practice, it seems possible that he'll be used in a comparably limited role this week. Playing White this week is a guess; it's why as a group we ranked him our No. 32 wide receiver.

Julio Jones active (11:26 a.m. ET): ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that WR Julio Jones (knee, questionable) is active for the Atlanta Falcons. Jones' injury limited him during both Thursday's and Friday's practices, so it's understandable that his fantasy owners might have some lingering concerns about his Week 2 output, especially considering his unpredictable week-to-week scoring history. That said, with Roddy White the one with the more disconcerting injury -- not to mention the poor Week 1 -- Jones should be played with confidence. We ranked him our No. 5 wide receiver for Week 2.
