Updates/analysis (most recent first)

Andre Johnson active (3:09 p.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that WR Andre Johnson (shin, probable) is active. He practiced fully on Friday, so there shouldn't be any lingering injury concerns with Johnson. The concern, however, should be the Texans' switch to Case Keenum at quarterback; the team is almost assured to use a conservative pass attack, similar to the ones we've seen the past two weeks. Keenum might continually force Johnson the ball this week, meaning his PPR appeal should be propped up, but Johnson belongs in the WR2 class in standard scoring, as our No. 17 rank of him suggests.

James Jones inactive (3:01 p.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that WR James Jones (knee, questionable) is inactive. It's huge news for Jarrett Boykin, who will make his first NFL start in Jones' place. As I noted during Friday's Fantasy Football Now, the Browns have surrendered 44 fantasy points to opponents' No. 2 wide receivers this season, compared to only 21 to No. 1 wideouts. Boykin is a fine hail-mary play, as he probably won't see a lot of Joe Haden in coverage.

Shonn Greene active (2:43 p.m. ET): The Tennessee Titans' official Twitter feed reports that RB Shonn Greene (knee, questionable) is active. Greene returns to action after a five-week absence, and should recapture short-yardage work from fill-in Jackie Battle. Neither running back is a recommended fantasy play going up against the 49ers.

Jake Locker active (2:43 p.m. ET): The Tennessee Titans' official Twitter feed reports that QB Jake Locker (hip, questionable) is active. Locker was named the Titans' starting quarterback for Week 7 earlier in the week, though he has a somewhat challenging matchup in the 49ers in his return to the lineup. He's our No. 25 quarterback.

Derrick Morgan inactive (2:43 p.m. ET): The Tennessee Titans' official Twitter feed reports that DE Derrick Morgan (shoulder, questionable) is inactive. Morgan, who has eight tackles and two sacks, is a bit of a loss to IDP owners.

Jackie Battle active (2:43 p.m. ET): The Tennessee Titans' official Twitter feed reports that RB Jackie Battle (neck, probable) is active. Battle might be active, but so is Shonn Greene. Greene is more likely to get any goal-line carries if the Titans opt to turn to one ahead of Chris Johnson, but neither is a recommended fantasy play for Week 7.

Steve Johnson active (11:59 a.m. ET): The Buffalo Bills' official Twitter feed reports that WR Steve Johnson (back, probable) is active. After sitting out Week 6, Johnson put in a full week of practice and is good to go for Week 7. He's our No. 30 wide receiver.

C.J. Spiller active (11:59 a.m. ET): The Buffalo Bills' official Twitter feed reports that RB C.J. Spiller (ankle, probable) is active. Spiller has played 13 and 17 snaps to Fred Jackson's 48 and 39 the past two weeks, perhaps partly a product of the team taking it easy on him while he heals, partly Jackson's improved production in 2013. Those snap counts should narrow closer together with time, but this matchup does favor Jackson slightly. As such, we ranked Jackson our No. 16 running back, Spiller No. 19, for Week 7, with three of four analysts preferring Jackson.

Eddie Royal active (11:55 a.m. ET): The San Diego Chargers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Eddie Royal (toe, questionable) is active. You'll notice that he wasn't listed among the "Top players we're watching" above, nor did he earn a ranking among the top 50 wide receivers by any of our four analysts. The reason is simple: Royal, a hot starter in 2013, has been practically invisible in recent weeks, with only seven fantasy points total in his past four games. He's a cut candidate even in larger formats.

Jason Snelling active (11:53 a.m. ET): The Atlanta Falcons' official Twitter feed reports that RB Jason Snelling (concussion, probable) is active. He passed his concussion test and practiced fully this week, so expect Snelling to return as the Falcons' preferred short-yardage option. That means possible touchdowns, which is why he earned a No. 34 ranking for Week 7.

Fred Davis inactive (11:51 a.m. ET): The Washington Redskins' official Twitter feed reports that TE Fred Davis (ankle, probable) is inactive. This is somewhat surprising, but it also further hints that TE Jordan Reed has stepped up as the Redskins' go-to tight end in the passing game. Davis' absence is a big plus for Reed, whose No. 17 ranking might now be a couple spots too low.

Zac Stacy active (11:49 a.m. ET): The St. Louis Rams' official Twitter feed reports that RB Zac Stacy (chest, probable) is active. In other news, RB Benny Cunningham (ankle, out) had previously been ruled out for Week 7, a further indication that the bulk of the Rams' rushing workload falls upon Stacy's shoulders. He's an iffier fantasy play this week due to the matchup against the hot-starting Panthers' run D, but he's still flex-worthy, earning a No. 25 ranking.

Mike Williams active (11:45 a.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Mike Williams (hamstring, questionable) is active. He missed Week 6, but returns this week in a game that might feature a fair amount of passing. Still, Williams' weekly value hinges upon touchdowns, as he has a developing, rookie quarterback throwing him the ball, resulting in inconsistent weekly fantasy totals. He's our No. 31 wide receiver accordingly.

Martellus Bennett active (11:42 a.m. ET): Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com reports that TE Martellus Bennett (knee, questionable) is active for the Chicago Bears. Bennett might be playing at less than 100 percent, but his matchup against the poor Redskins secondary makes him a plenty attractive fantasy play. He is our No. 9 tight end for the week.

Charles Tillman active (11:42 a.m. ET): Jeff Dickerson of ESPNChicago.com reports that CB Charles Tillman (knee, questionable) is active for the Chicago Bears. Tillman's injury has been quite frustrating, as he was the game's top defensive back in IDP leagues a year ago, and this season he has been more of a second-tier player at the position. Still, as he's active, he's well worth using in that format, as Jim McCormick's No. 21 DB for Week 7.

DeMarcus Ware inactive (11:39 a.m. ET): ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that DE DeMarcus Ware (thigh, doubtful) is inactive for the Dallas Cowboys. Ware has four sacks and an interception this season, so his is a somewhat big loss in IDP leagues.

DeMarco Murray inactive (11:39 a.m. ET): ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that RB DeMarco Murray (knee, doubtful) is inactive for the Dallas Cowboys. A "doubtful" tag assured that Murray wasn't going to play this week, but the official word of his inactive status gives Joseph Randle's owners the go-ahead to plug him in as an attractive flex play. We ranked Randle our No. 21 running back for Week 7.

Justin Blackmon active (11:38 a.m. ET): The Jacksonville Jaguars' official Twitter feed reports that WR Justin Blackmon (hamstring, questionable) is active. Fresh off a 14-catch, 190-yard Week 6, Blackmon sat out the team's Wednesday and Friday practices, though his active status now hints that those were maintenance- rather than setback-related absences. He was never at serious risk to sit, though with Cecil Shorts also active, Blackmon might not garner the massive number of targets he did a week ago. Nevertheless, against a Chargers defense allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers, Blackmon is a fine WR2, whom we rank 15th at the position.

Cecil Shorts active (11:38 a.m. ET): The Jacksonville Jaguars' official Twitter feed reports that WR Cecil Shorts (shoulder, questionable) is active. Wow, now that's a remarkably quick recovery. Shorts admitted mid-week that he was still in considerable pain, though he make an appearance during Friday's practice. He might be playing at noticeably less than 100 percent, meaning Justin Blackmon should again be the focal point of the Jaguars' pass attack. Shorts' owners should only regard him a low-end WR3 -- think a player who belongs in the 30s in rank -- and mainly because of the strength of the matchup.

Calvin Johnson active (11:36 a.m. ET): Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that WR Calvin Johnson (knee, probable) is active for the Detroit Lions. He practiced fully this week and Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan proclaimed earlier in the week that Johnson wouldn't have nearly as many limitations in Week 7 as he did in Week 6. Johnson's owners should assume he's a full go -- or at least a player close to it -- and treat him as a surefire starter accordingly. We ranked him our No. 9 wide receiver for the week, which packs in the requisite amount of caution.

Joique Bell active (11:36 a.m. ET): Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that RB Joique Bell (rib, questionable) is active for the Detroit Lions. He has openly admitted that he's in pain, so it's unclear the extent of Bell's Week 7 role. We ranked him our No. 33 running back, but with his questionable tag and the recent reports, I'd suggest you steer clear of him this week, if possible.

Michael Vick inactive (11:34 a.m. ET): The Philadelphia Eagles' official Twitter feed reports that QB Michael Vick (hamstring, questionable) is inactive. No surprises here, other than that Vick was active for Week 6 but now sits Week 7. Nick Foles was announced the Eagles' starter earlier in the week, however, so it was always clear that Vick's fantasy owners couldn't use him this week. Facing a mediocre Cowboys pass defense, Foles is our No. 12 quarterback.

Michael Hoomanawanui active (11:32 a.m. ET): The New England Patriots' official Twitter feed reports that TE Michael Hoomanawanui (knee, questionable) is active. With Rob Gronkowski back, Hoomanawanui's already-slim chances at a handful of targets take an even further hit. He'll serve in a blocking role and isn't fantasy relevant.

Brandon Bolden active (11:32 a.m. ET): The New England Patriots' official Twitter feed reports that RB Brandon Bolden (knee, questionable) is active. Stevan Ridley might be the Patriots' go-to back in most situations this week, after his bounce-back Week 6, but Bolden will still have a role on passing downs at the bare minimum. He's a mere desperation play, ranked 41st among running backs.

Julian Edelman active (11:32 a.m. ET): The New England Patriots' official Twitter feed reports that WR Julian Edelman (thigh, questionable) is active. He is active while Danny Amendola is not, so Edelman's fantasy appeal -- which is greater, granted, in PPR formats -- stabilizes as a result. Rob Gronkowski might cut into Edelman's targets, especially in the red zone, however. We ranked Edelman our No. 25 wide receiver for Week 7.

Aqib Talib inactive (11:29 a.m. ET): The New England Patriots' official Twitter feed reports that CB Aqib Talib (hip, doubtful) is inactive. Talib didn't travel with the Patriots to New York, so he had been ruled out officially on Saturday. From the Patriots' perspective, this is as good a week for him to miss as any, as neither QB Geno Smith nor any of his receivers demands a level of clamp-down coverage that Talib has provided thus far in 2013. That said, it's a plus -- on the lower tiers, at least -- for playmaking Jets wide receivers like WR Stephen Hill. Hill is a more attractive hail-mary play accordingly, and he checks in our No. 44 wide receiver for Week 7 (38th in my individual ranks).

Rob Gronkowski active (11:29 a.m. ET): The New England Patriots' official Twitter feed reports that TE Rob Gronkowski (back, questionable) is active. The long, long wait is finally over. It became somewhat clear that Gronkowski would play -- despite the waffling weekend reports on his status -- when he traveled with the team to New York, so his fantasy owners will be hard-pressed not to start him. As a group we ranked him fifth; that's with a high of second (Christopher Harris) and a low of ninth (mine). My take is that he might play somewhat limited snaps, so don't get overzealous with your expectations.
