Makeup dates not announced for hoops
A snowstorm in the Northeast resulted in basketball games being postponed and thoroughbred and harness racing canceled.
In addition, attendance dipped at games that did take place. Approximately 3,000 fans saw the Nets beat the Bucks in East Rutherford, N.J.
Also, Friday's NCAA tournament quarterfinal soccer match between St. John's and Creighton was rescheduled for Sunday.
Friday night's Manhattan at Fairfield basketball game was called off, along with Saturday's East Carolina-Seton Hall game at East Rutherford, N.J.
Makeup dates were not immediately announced.
Racing in five states was affected by the storm. Racing was canceled after the first race at Aqueduct in New York, while the races were called off altogether at Laurel, near Baltimore, Philadelphia Park and Penn National in Pennsylvania and Charles Town in West Virginia.
Harness tracks canceling Friday's races include the Meadowlands in New Jersey and Yonkers Raceway in New York.
Track officials at Aqueduct also called off Saturday's card, with racing set to resume Sunday.
The Queens County Handicap, scheduled for Saturday at Aqueduct, was rescheduled for Dec. 13.
