Based on his comments earlier in the week, it should come as no surprise that Tiger Woods is not in the field for next week's Wells Fargo Championship. Woods, who has not played since last August after twice undergoing back surgery in the fall, said the 5 holes he played on Monday at the opening of the Bluejack National course he designed were his first. He's still limited in the number of drivers he can hit. At a clinic for the Tiger Woods Foundation in Las Vegas on Friday, Woods did say he is "sick and tired of sitting on the sidelines.''

Jim Furyk, who has been sidelined since last year after wrist surgery, will make his 2016 debut at Quail Hollow and plans to play The Players Championship one week later.
