NEWPORT, R.I. -- Conventional wisdom says Annika Sorenstam will prevail over Pat Hurst in Monday's 18-hole U.S. Women's Open playoff. Of course, there's no room for conventional wisdom on a scorecard. For the record, Sorenstam is the world's top-ranked player, owns 67 career LPGA victories and is seeking her 10th major championship title. By comparison, Hurst is ranked No. 20, has four career wins and her only major triumph came eight years ago, back when the Kraft Nabisco still had the name Dinah Shore in its title.
