East Lake was the real winner

ATLANTA -- There were plenty of noteworthy stories making the rounds here this week. Tiger and Phil skipping the Tour Championship. The unknown details of next season's FedEx Cup. Paul Azinger reportedly being named the next U.S. Ryder Cup captain. Adam Scott defeating a stellar field for his first win of the year.

Falling through the cracks was the fact that, once again, East Lake Golf Club was the star of the show.

Every single player I questioned this week called the course one of the top three or four on the PGA Tour -- one reason it now hosts Tour Championship on an annual basis (although you'd better believe the involvement of Atlanta-based Coca-Cola is an even bigger reason).
