The good, and not-so-good, awards for 2008

December, 9, 2008
Welcome to the first PGA Tour Awards Show! With more young superstars than the Grammys, more drama than the Emmys and more screaming teenyboppers than the VMAs -- all for Camilo Villegas and Adam Scott, of course -- this is the one awards show you can't afford to miss this year!

One by one, the players are exiting their courtesy cars and sauntering Fred Couples-like down the red carpet. Here comes Anthony Kim, encumbered by a 4-foot-wide diamond-encrusted "AK" belt buckle. And there's Woody Austin, looking dazzling in the latest airbrushed sunset golf shirt. Oh, and there's Ian Poulter wearing … nothing but a pink golf bag.

Uh, let's move on. As players file into the grill here at the palatial TPC Sawgrass clubhouse (aka Tim Finchem's Rock of Love digs), we remind the audience to adhere to all "QUIET PLEASE" signs throughout the proceedings. This isn't the 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale, so please keep a modicum of decency and decorum around here.
