SAN FRANCISCO -- Earlier this week, Bubba Watson said he saw an 80 lurking. It could happen to him on Thursday. He seems more nervous and fidgety than usual. Of course, he always promises to miss fairways off the tee. He has missed half his fairways so far in the first round.

Olympic will not be a course that players can overpower with length. The combination of imagination and power that Watson used to topple Augusta won't work this week.

The 33-year-old former Georgia Bulldogs golfer was always the longest of long shots to get the Grand Slam after his win in April at the Masters.

Through his first 12 holes, Bubba had five bogeys, a double and a birdie at the easy par-5 17th hole and was at 6-over.
