Bank on McIlroy for player of the year

NORTON, Mass. -- On Monday, Rory McIlroy most likely clinched his first PGA Tour Player of the Year award with a 1-shot win over Louis Oosthuizen at the Deutsche Bank Championship. It wasn't pretty, but McIlroy's 4-under 67 on Labor Day at TPC Boston was enough to hold off Oosthuizen, who shot even par in the final round after starting the day with a 3-stroke lead.
