Rory McIlroy gets Euro Tour award

World No. 1 Rory McIlroy was named the European Tour golfer of the year on Tuesday.

McIlroy follows Luke Donald, who won the award in 2011. Like Donald, McIlroy won the Euro Tour's Race to Dubai money list and led the PGA Tour money list in the same season. Last week, McIlroy was named PGA Tour player of the year.
