There was no Open hangover for Phil Mickelson but he admitted that his close call at Royal Troon will "over time be more disappointing," given how well he played in finishing second to Henrik Stenson. Mickelson said he didn't want to let it linger and hurt his chances at this week's PGA.

Rory McIlroy on his driving distance: "I feel like, for my size, I hit it a long way. So that's nice, I guess." Um, yeah. I guess.

The concept has been brewing for years and became serious in the last six months. "Who doesn't like candy and fudge and ice cream,'' Watson said. "I'm spending the most money in there.''

Rory McIlroy leads with a long drive of 345 yards. In 1963, Jack Nicklaus won this same competition -- with a drive just four yards shorter.
