Hole 9

The skinny:
Tee shot should be aimed down the right side for a good angle into the green, which features two large bunkers to the left. Any approach that is short could spin some 60 yards back into the fairway. Tiger Woods recommended a flatter spot on the top shelf of the green for two possible hole locations. The tee was moved back 30 yards last year.

Vijay Singh's analysis:
This is probably the biggest change they made last year. They've planted some trees down the right side. There was a big oak tree that didn't have any leaves on it when I played, about 220 yards off the right side. You use to be able to leak it a little and it would be no problem. If you leak it a little now, that tree will knock it down. You can't draw it any more because of that tree. Only one or two guys can really get it down the hill. It will be a 7-iron to a 9-iron to the green. There will be a lot more bogeys and extras.

How it played in 2002:
Eagles: 0 Birdies: 32 Pars: 151 Bogeys: 73 Double Bogeys: 8 Other: 1
