Notes: Na is currently 50th on the OWGR, so he barely slipped inside the British Open field through this criteria (the U.S. Open considers the Top 60 exempt). Here's hoping the fans across the pond are sympathetic to his waggles.29

May 20, 2012
Graham Delaet News: DeLaet (Back), playing in the Major Medical Extension category, tied for 41st/ 1-over, at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: DeLaet continues to reduce the money target with $22,132 leaving him to earn $246,683 in 15 starts. Considering the remaining number of 2012 events, DeLaet will not run out of time. He needs another big week such as he had a fourth place finish which gave him $281,600 at the Zurich Classic.31
Duffy Waldorf News: Waldorf (Knee), playing in the Major Medical Extension category, tied for 41st, 1-over, at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Waldorf earned $22,132 this week that trimmed his target, $728,792 a bit but dramatically short of attainment. Waldorf may be able to get sponsor's exemptions for PGA Tur play, but his August 20th birthday brings him to age 50 and the Champion's Tour is very attractive.32
Alex Cejka News: Cejka (Neck), playing in the Major Medical Extension category, tied for 20th, 1-under at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Cejka earned $40,439 leaving him with one more start to earn $200,185. Cejka, who has been bringing down the money target in bits and pieces, needs a very strong finish in his last start. He is not in the field of the Crowne Plaza Invitational this coming week.33
Charley Hoffman News: Hoffman finished tied for 41st at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Hoffman just could not put four rounds together this week. He opened with 66-69 but closed with 74-72, all of which led to his 1-over par overall finish. If Hoffman can put four strong rounds together, he will win again on the PGA Tour.34
Ernie Els News: Els finished tied for 41st at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Els has been playing better in recent weeks, including his playoff loss at the Zurich. However this week he was held back again by his putter, as he finished 50th in the field in putts per green in regulation. If Els is to win again on the PGA Tour, it will come down to his putter.35
Charles Howell III News: Howell finished tied for 41st at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: If the Nelson was a 36 hole event, Howell would have been in a great shape. He shot 68 on Thursday and Saturday. Unfortunately for him, he shot a Friday 73 and a Sunday 72 to push him down the leaderboard. Four solid rounds will be what it takes to get Howell back on top.36
John Merrick News: Merrick finished tied for 36th at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: This week was a steady week for Merrick, who did not do anything flashy but did bank another check. A couple shots shaved off each round and Merrick will be contending for that first win.37
Erik Compton News: Compton finished tied for 36th at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: The Nelson was another steady week for Compton, who shot rounds of 70-71-71-68 to cash yet another check and get some more FedEx Cup points. Obviously he does not want to keep finishing mid-pack, but as a rookie, this is exactly what he needs.38
Keegan Bradley News: Bradley finished tied for 24th at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Bradley, the defending champion of this event was in position to make a run at a victory after opening with 67-68, but could not get anything going on the weekend, shooting rounds of 71 and 72 to finish at 2-under par. In the end he watched the guy he beat in the playoff at the PGA Championship last year, Jason Dufner, walk away with the title.39
Gary Woodland News: Woodland tied for 24th at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: This is a major positive for Woodland, who has battled wrist injuries lately. Especially promising is his Sunday 66 that catapulted him up 29 places on the leaderboard. If he can stay healthy, he is a player to watch as 2012 continues.40
Jason Day News: Day finished Sunday with a 72, finishing ninth at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: The 2010 Byron Nelson champ Day has been battling an ankle injury this year but he looks to have recovered to post two top-10s in his last three events. He's one of the young talents on tour right now and it's surprising that he's still looking for just his second career win. Regardless, he should be considered for your lineup in the near future.41
Phil Mickelson News: Mickelson broke out of his two-week funk, firing a Sunday 66 to finish seventh at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Following the Masters Mickelson had posted 11 consecutive rounds that seemed quite "average" for Phil. But Sunday he got off to a hot start and was 6-under before bogeying the final two holes to shoot 66. It was Mickelson's fifth top-10 of the year, and more importantly it looks like his game has re-emerged after a multi-week hiatus.42
Joe Durant News: Durant carded a Sunday 65 to finish third at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: The straight-hitting Durant stumbled with two early bogeys Sunday but went on a tear shortly thereafter to post the best round of the day. It was by far his best finish of the year and should give him confidence going forward.43
Paul Casey News: Casey (shoulder) continues to receive treatment on his shoulder and still hopes to play at the BMW PGA Championship in Wentworth, reports UK's Daily Mail.
Notes: After withdrawing from the Volvo World Match Play Championship, Casey will try to gut it out in one of the European Tour's premiere events.44
Briny Baird News: Baird failed to make the cut at the Byron Nelson Classic, finishing at 3-over par 143 for the two days.
Notes: Baird withdrew during his second round at The Players last week as well as prior to the Wells Fargo Championship two weeks ago. It's been a tough year so far for Baird with just one top 25 finish.45
May 19, 2012

Notes: The secondary cut players will receive FedEx points and prize money commensurate with their scores.48
May 18, 2012
Fran Quinn News: Quinn, playing in the Major Medical Extension category, missed the cut at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Quinn opened with an even-par 70 only to create a seven-over 77 in his second round. He now has three starts to earn $694,683 to continue to play in the MME for the rest of the year.49
Jamie Lovemark News: Lovemark, playing in the Major Medical Extension category, missed the cut at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Time is running out for Lovemark, who has made only four cuts this year, leaving him with only four starts to earn $548,442.50
Hank Kuehne News: Kuehne, playing in the Major Medical Extension category, missed the cut at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Kuehne shot a serviceable 69 and a not-so-good 74 (total three-over) to miss the two-over cut. He is left with 11 starts to earn $609,780 which when achieved will give Kuehne playing time for the rest of the year.51
Joey Snyder III News: Snyder, playing in the Major Medical Extension category, missed the cut at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Snyder's 73-76=149, seven-over the cut number, leaves him 24 starts to earn $647,466 to continue to play in the MME category.52
David Duval News: Duval withdrew after nine holes of the second round at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: Following his 2-over 72 in round one, Duval had one birdie, five bogeys and one double bogey. No forthcoming information on the WD from PGA Tour.com so far.53
John Huh News: Rookie Huh, having a very good year so far, withdrew after twelve holes of the Byron Nelson Championship.
Notes: After an even par 70 in round one, Huh had a birdies, five bogeys and two double bogeys to reach plus-eight. There's no information forthcoming from PGA Tour.com so far.54

May 15, 2012
Adam Scott News: Scott is in the field for the Byron Nelson Championship this week.

Notes: Johnson had offseason knee surgery and then had back problems which have sidelined him since March. It looks like he'll finally be ready to return to the tour later this month.63
D.A. Points News: Points (back) is in the field for the Byron Nelson Championship and announced that he is pain free during his latest hitting session.
Notes: Points withdrew right before he was supposed to tee off at The Players but it does appear that this was a precautionary move more than any type of serious injury.64
May 13, 2012
Justin Rose News: Rose finished tied for 51st at The Players.
Notes: This was an off-week for the usually consistent Rose. He can point to his putter as the problem, as he ranked 67th in strokes gained-putting, tied for 32nd in putts per round and 36th in putts per green in regulation.65
Ryan Moore News: Moore finished 46th at The Players.
Notes: Molder got off to a good start this week with an opening-round 69 but could not keep it together from there, shooting rounds of 72-75-73 to finish. Stringing four solid rounds together will be what it takes for Moore to contend and ultimately win an upper-echelon event like The Players.66
Bryce Molder News: Molder shot rounds of 72-72-70-73 to finish 40th at The Players.
Notes: While Molder, who won the Frys.com Open last fall, didn't win this week, he did play consistently enough to garner a 40th place finish. In addition, he was fifth in the all important strokes gained-putting statistic, which should hopefully lead to good things down the road.67
Alvaro Quiros News: Quiros finished 40th at The Players.
Notes: Quiros, one of the longest hitters in the world, lived up to that title this week, leading the field in driving distance at 311 yards. But he finished 41st or worst in all putting related stats. Ouch. Clearly, that's where Quiros needs to work on his game.68
Johnson Wagner News: Wagner finished 25th at The Players.
Notes: Wagner, who is very quietly having a very nice season, winning at the Sony in January, shot 69s on Thursday and Saturday but shot 73 and 75 in the other two rounds. Putting four solid rounds together in bigger events will be what he needs to move up and start winning major.69
Lee Westwood News: Westwood shot 74-77 on the weekend, finishing 61st.
Notes: Westwood's tee shots went awry this weekend as he hit 50% of his fairways Saturday and a dismal 29% Sunday. Regardless, don't take this finish too seriously as Westwood has played very well all year and this is by far his worst finish so it's likely an aberration.70
Tiger Woods News: Woods struggled to a final round 73, finishing 40th at THE PLAYERS.
Notes: Woods seems to be in a funk as of late with a missed cut at the Wells Fargo last week and now another poor finish where he had to rally on Friday just to make the cut. He finished second in driving distance this week (301.8) but unfortunately TPC Sawgrass is more about accuracy and he suffered in that category on Thursday and Sunday. Hopefully Tiger can pull it together going forward.71
David Toms News: Toms scorched TPC Sawgrass for a Sunday 65 in finishing 10th.
Notes: Last year's PLAYERS runner-up Toms summoned the vibes of yesteryear to stair-step up the leaderboard Sunday. He led the field in driving accuracy (76.8%) and was third in GIR% (73.6%). It was at this time last year when Toms got on a streak so pay close attention as he might be a solid pick in the next few weeks.72
Bo Van Pelt News: Van Pelt finished seventh at THE PLAYERS.
Notes: BVP has shown solid results and with this finish posted his fifth top 10 this year. He had all four of his rounds under par this week and finished third in the field in putts per round (27.3).73
Luke Donald News: Donald shot a scorching Sunday 66 and finished sixth at THE PLAYERS.
Notes: Donald reeled off six birdies en route to a back nine 30 Sunday where he posted nine-under and yet another top 10. Donald needed to finish fourth or better to yet again leap-frog McIlroy for World No. 1, but came up just short.74
Zach Johnson News: Johnson signed for a final round 68, finishing runner-up at THE PLAYERS.
Notes: Johnson now has two runner-up finishes in his last three events. He made an early charge with an eagle on the second hole but couldn't get within striking distance late. Johnson was second in the field in GIR% (75%) and made some clutch putts including a bomb for par at the last to secure a big payday.75
Martin Laird News: Laird carded a final round 67 to finish in a four-way tie for second at THE PLAYERS.
Notes: Laird conjured up great first and final rounds this week, but the middle rounds left alot to be desired. Nonetheless he was second in strokes gained putting and birdies (24) this week which went a long way at the tough stadium course. The finish comes as quite a surprise for most, as his best finish here was a mere 69th at last year's tournament.76
Ben Curtis News: Curtis finished tied for second at The Players Championship, in a four-way group at minus-11.
Notes: Curtis admitted he was on fumes this week, playing for the fourth consecutive event, but he didn't look tired on the course. The victory at San Antonio a month ago has clearly rejuvenated him: he's followed that up with three more heavy checks (T13, T5, T2). Curtis is expected to take a break next week, and then he'll start preparing for his qualification into the U.S. Open. He's set for the other two majors, already eligible to play the British and the PGA.77
May 10, 2012
Angel Cabrera News: Cabrera withdrew from The Players Championship, citing personal reasons, PGATour.com reports.
Notes: He shot an opening-round 78, so a high probability of missing the cut was probable a factor.78
Brian Harman News: Harmon has been moved from the Alternate category to the full field of the PLAYERS Championship.
Notes: Harman, who was the first place alternate, replaces D. A. Points who withdrew.79
May 9, 2012
Lucas Glover News: Glover has made the cut in just three of six events since returning from his early season knee injury.
Notes: There is no reason to think Glover is not 100% healthy. He did miss the cut at Quail Hollow in his title defense and is in the field for The Players Championship.80
May 8, 2012
Webb Simpson News: Simpson is in the field for The Players this week.
Notes: Simpson finished fourth with a 13-under at the Wells Fargo Championship last week. He finished 69th with a plus-four at The Players last year. Simpson has made 11 cuts with five top-25 finishes so far this year.81
Martin Kaymer News: Kaymer is in the field for The Players this week.
Notes: Kaymer did not play at the Wells Fargo Championship last week. He finished 19th with a seven-under at The Players last year. Kaymer has made three cuts with two top-25 finishes so far this year.82

May 7, 2012
Fred Couples News: Couples. winner of this event in 1994 and 1996, has withdrawn from the Players Championship.
Notes: Couples withdrew from last week's Champions Tour event due to a case of the flu. The WD is easy to understand considering the durability of the flu bug.85
May 6, 2012
Chad Campbell News: Campbell finished 40th at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: Campbell shot a Sunday 69 -- better than one might think -- which vaulted him up 20 places on the leaderboard. The 40th place finish was actually his third best all year as he has five missed cuts in 12 starts this year, which currently puts him 130th on the FedEx Cup points list.86
Jeff Overton News: Overton finished in a tie for 48th at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: This may surprise some people, but Overton, who made a name for himself on the 2010 Ryder Cup team, has never won a PGA Tour event. He had three pretty solid rounds to open this week -- 68-71-70 -- until a final round 77 sent him back in the field. Four solid rounds will be what he needs to collect his first PGA Tour title.87
Tommy Gainey News: Gainey finished tied for 40th at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: Gainey once again put in two good rounds this week -- a 68 on Thursday and a 69 on Saturday, but rounds of 72 on Friday and 71 on Sunday prevented him from contending. Four rounds in the 60s will get Gainey back where he wants to be.88
Rocco Mediate News: Mediate finished 40th at the Wells Fargo Championship after rounds of 68-69-75-72.
Notes: Mediate, who is getting ready to move to the Champions Tour shortly has been all over the map in his play in 2012. In the 12 events he's played in he's missed the cut half the time, and his best finish is only 29th. But he's still a fan favorite in any event he plays and will sure be a success story on the Champions Tour.89
Camilo Villegas News: Villegas finished 32nd at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: Villegas has had an inconsistent year, with four missed cuts, a withdrawal and three top-25s so far in 11 starts. He has also changed putters recently, looking for some help on the greens.90
Jim Furyk News: Furyk shot 71-71-71-69 to finish 26th at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: Furyk had been riding a very nice streak of four top-15 finishes in a row until this week. It doesn't look like he's too far off going into TPC Sawgrass, where he resides as a member.91
Jonathan Byrd News: Byrd finished ninth at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: Last year's runner-up Byrd came to play this week and looks to be a horse for the course when it comes to the difficult Quail Hollow. Byrd has been very spotty with his finishes in recent years and this seems to be just another blip on the radar so don't expect this to lead to anything predictable going forward.92
Rory McIlroy News: McIlroy fell just short in the playoff at the Wells Fargo Championship, finishing runner-up but regaining the World No.1 ranking.
Notes: The 2010 champ of this tournament played very well down the stretch and had a birdie look in regulation to win but narrowly missed it. McIlroy led the field in driving distance (330.9) and birdies (23) and with this finish leap-frogged Luke Donald atop the world ranking yet again. McIlroy now has 4-of-5 finishes at third or better and will play THE PLAYERS Championship next week.93

Danny Lee News: Lee was disqualified after completing his second round at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: Lee had a turn-around from a three-under 69 to a seven-over 79 that featured no birdies with five bogeys and one double (at the 17th). Most delayed DQs have a negative scorecard error, actually score more than written on card. If a player enters a score higher than the actual, the score stands - no DQ.94
May 4, 2012
Charlie Beljan News: Beljan withdrew before starting his second round of the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: Beljan, who shot a six-over 78 in his opening round, reported a hand injury which may be a continuation of his wrist problem. No small matter here.95
May 3, 2012
D.J. Trahan News: Trahan withdrew after completing the first three holes of his first round at the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: Trahan had a single par with two bogeys in his brief stint. He has reported a back injury.96
May 2, 2012
Chad Collins News: Collins and the following players have been removed from the field of the Wells Fargo Championship: Briney Baird, Thomas Bjorn, Matt Every, Davis Love III, Graeme McDowell and Gary Woodland.
Notes: We compare last Friday's field as shown by PGA Tour.com shortly after 5: p.m. Eastern with Wednesday's field at of after 8:30 p.m. Eastern.97
Alexandre Rocha News: Rocha was added to the field this week for the Wells Fargo Championship, the Associated Press reports.
Notes: Rocha replaces Matt Every, who withdrew Wednesday. In seven events this season, Rocha has made the cut twice but failed to finish both of those events.98
Russell Knox News: Knox is in the field this week for the Wells Fargo Championship, the Associated Press reports.
Notes: Knox, who tied for 30th last week at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, replaces the injured Woodland in the field. In nine events this year, Knox has made the cut just three times.99
Matt Every News: Every withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship, according to PGATour.com.
Notes: No immediate reason was given for Every's withdrawal at Quail Hollow. Every stands in 28th place in the current Fedex Cup standings.100
April 30, 2012
Thomas Bjorn News: Bjorn has withdrawn from the Wells Fargo Championship, according to PGATour.com.
Notes: Bjorn hasn't played since The Masters. No reason was issued for his withdrawal.101
Davis Love III News: Love has withdrawn from the Wells Fargo Championship, according to PGATour.com.
Notes: Love misses another tournament with the injured rib he sustained at Bay Hill in March.102
Graeme McDowell News: McDowell announced that he has withdrawn from the Wells Fargo Championship.
Notes: McDowell has withdrawn due to an illness and needing a mental break. He should be good to go for The Players next week.103
April 29, 2012
Stuart Appleby News: Appleby finished 45th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Notes: Appleby has not had the best of starts to 2012. In 10 events he's missed six cuts with his best finish being a tie for 21st at the Honda Classic. So while a tie for 45th doesn't sound very good, for Appleby, it is a step in the right direction.104
Fred Funk News: Funk finished 30th this week at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Notes: Funk, making a very rare appearance on the PGA Tour had a nice showing, turning in a 30th place finish that included a second round 67 and final round 68.105
Geoff Ogilvy News: Ogilvy shot rounds of 76-66-71-68 to finish 45th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Notes: Talk about a bounce back round: Ogilvy went from possibly trunk-slamming to getting himself a pretty tidy finish with the second round 66 -- one he needed the way he's been playing recently. Ogilvy is still looking to back up that first major, the 2006 U.S. Open, with another, and is trying to get himself as best prepared as possible for Olympic Club in June.106
K.J. Choi News: Choi finished tied for 39th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Notes: If golf could only was only 36 holes, Choi would have had a chance to win this week, with second and final round 68s. But his opening and third rounds were 71 and 74, putting him out of contention and into his 39th place finish. Choi defends in two weeks at The Players, so look for him to play well there.107
John Rollins News: Rollins finished seventh at the Zurich Classic with rounds of 67-65-69-72.
Notes: Rollins was eighth in putts per round this week with 26.8 and was 10th in driving accuracy (71.4%). Rollins opted to avoid looking at leaderboards all week but I'm sure that he knew he needed to go much lower than 72 to win on Sunday. Despite the solid overall finish there's seems to be a recurring theme of Rollins struggling when he's in contention so tread lightly.108
Cameron Tringale News: Tringale finished seventh at the Zurich Classic, his third top 10 in a row.
Notes: Tringale fired out of the gates with a first round 65 that gave him the first round lead and he was definitely in the thick of things Sunday but couldn't muster a good enough back nine to post a number. He's trending red hot right now with two eighth place finishes and now a seventh so ride the Tringale wave until it hits the shore.109
