DUBLIN, Ohio -- The International team hasn't performed poorly this week as the Presidents Cup. They have been simply outplayed by the Americans.
In the Saturday four-ball competition, the U.S. team made a combined 43 birdies in a 4-1 victory during that session to take a commanding lead.
In their only win in four-ball, the International team of Jason Day and Graham DaLaet halved six holes with birdies in their 2-up win over Steve Stricker and Jordan Spieth.
In the only completed match in the afternoon foursomes session Saturday, Zach Johnson and Jason Dufner were two down to Richard Sterne and Marc Leishman before winning six of the last seven holes for a 4-and-3 victory to take the overall point total to 11½-6½ in favor of the U.S.
That match typified the American dominance as Johnson holed out from the fairway at the par-5 15th for eagle to seal the win.
