Lydia Ko, who at age 16 has won five professional events, has signed a representation agreement with IMG, the company announced Thursday.

Ko, who turned pro in October and won her first play-for-pay event at last week's Swinging Skirts World Ladies Masters, is ranked fourth in the Women's Rolex World Golf Rankings.

She twice won the CN Canadian Open, becoming the first player in LPGA Tour history to win two times as an amateur. She also won professional events in Australia and New Zealand as an amateur.

"I am excited to work with my new team at IMG as I embark on my professional career," Ko said in a statement released by IMG. "My family and I spoke with many candidates and IMG emerged as the clear choice to represent me, in large part because of their global reach. I am comfortable knowing that IMG will commit the appropriate resources to help my career excel while I focus on golf."

Paula Creamer and Michelle Wie are among the women's golfers represented by IMG.

Guy Kinnings, global head of golf at IMG, said in a statement released that Ko "is an incredibly impressive young lady and an astonishing player."

Information from The Associated Press was included in this report.
