Jordan Spieth, Jason Day among commitments for Pebble Beach

There will be plenty of big names at iconic Pebble Beach next month, and that doesn't mean just the celebrities in the pro-am field.

Five weeks before the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, six of the top 10 golfers in the world rankings have committed to this year's event.

That list is led by Jordan Spieth, who won two majors in 2015, and Jason Day, who won last year's final major among his five victories.

Also planning to compete in the tournament's three-course rotation are Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed and Justin Rose.

That number of top-10 players could expand to include ninth-ranked Jim Furyk, who recently told The Associated Press he hoped he would be ready for a return from a lingering wrist injury by then.

Brandt Snedeker won last year's edition of the event, which traditionally features two-man teams of one professional and one amateur.
