Jason Kokrak claims 1st Nationwide win
BOISE, Idaho -- Rookie Jason Kokrak earned his first career Nationwide Victory on Sunday, making the most of being the last player to get into the Albertsons Boise Open.
The 26-year old from Charlotte, N.C., started the final round at the Hillcrest Country Club tied for the lead and shot a bogey-free, 4-under 67 to beat John Mallinger by two strokes.
Kokrak finished at 18-under 266 to become the Nationwide Tour's 10th first-time winner and fourth rookie winner in 2011 after getting the call Tuesday that he was in the field.
The winner's check for $130,000 moved him to No. 13 on the money list from No. 70.
The 25 leading money winners will earn PGA Tour cards for 2012. There are five full-field events left before the season-ending Tour Championship.
