BETHESDA, Md. -- The PGA Tour has a new sponsor for its developmental tour.
Web.com, a provider of Internet services and online marketing solutions to small- and medium-sized businesses, announced a 10-year agreement to be the name of the PGA Tour's minor-league circuit. It had been called the Nationwide Tour.
The agreement is effective immediately. This week's tournament in Evansville, Ind., will be part of the Web.com Tour.
Nationwide had said it would be ending its sponsorship at the end of 2012. Starting next year, the Web.com Tour will be the primary path for players to reach the PGA Tour.
