The 30-year-old former Lamar player finished at 17-under 267 on the Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate. He earned $99,000 to jump from 54th to 12th on the money list with $166,715. The final top 25 on the money list will earn 2013 PGA Tour cards.
"The win hasn't really sunk in yet, but this is something you dream about as a kid," Stefani said. "This is the best thing that has ever happened to me. When the year started I had a couple of goals. One was to win a tournament and the other was to finish in the top 25 and earn my PGA Tour card."
Stefani got a break on the final hole when his shot with a lob wedge flew over the flag, bounced off the mesh fencing at the base of the skyboxes and rolled back on the green, a mere 3 feet from the hole to set up a birdie.
"That ball at 18 could have kicked several ways, but it broke right for me," Stefani said. "When you win, a lot of good things go your way," Stefani said.
