Ernie Els switches to IMG
LONDON -- Ernie Els has changed management companies for the second time in little more than a year. The South African is joining IMG, trying to capitalize on his increased exposure since winning this year's British Open.
His portfolio includes charity work, golf-course design and wine businesses. He left Pros Inc. on Tuesday to become part of an IMG stable that already includes golf stars Luke Donald, Sergio Garcia and Jason Dufner.
Els says IMG "really is best equipped to help me achieve everything I want to do on and off the course." Tiger Woods severed his longstanding association with IMG last year.
The 43-year-old Els won the British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Anne's in July for his fourth major title.
