SAN DIEGO -- Tiger Woods will be in the featured group Thursday when the Farmers Insurance Open starts on the North and South courses at Torrey Pines.
Stanley will be looking for redemption after blowing a four-shot lead here last year on the 72nd hole before losing in a playoff to Brandt Snedeker.
As the defending champion, Snedeker was scheduled to headline a threesome including Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson off the North Course's 10th tee at 9:30 a.m. local time. Watson on Thursday withdrew from the tournament, citing the flu. He will be replaced by Billy Mayfair.
Watson beat Mickelson by one shot in 2011, the year Mickelson famously had caddie Jim "Bones" Mackay tend the flag for his 72-yard wedge shot to the 18th hole. Had the lefty holed out, he would have forced a playoff with Watson.
