Duval finally won a hole on the back nine, leaving him two down to Woods overall.
Now 3-up with five holes left to go, Tiger merely had to play conservatively. Still, he landed in a water hazard in his first shot on this hole. Duval used his driver to land on the fairway, trying to win his first hole since the second one.
While Woods' third shot landed on on the green, Duval, about 174 yards from the pin, again sliced his second shot right into the bunker.
Duval's third shot from the sand landed about six feet from the hole.Woods' fourth, a tough 20-footer uphill, curved to the right and left a five foot putt for bogey.
Duval nailed his par putt and won his first hole in 11 tries.
