Hole 7 became the second tie of the evening, leaving Woods with the slight overall advantage.
Woods began the 537-yard, par-5 7th hole by putting it in near-perfect position on the first fairway with a 3-wood. The shot went about 310 yards. Duval quickly tried to match Tiger's drive, but he just caught the rough to the left of the first fairway a few yards shorter of his opponent's drive.
Tiger's second shot got him on the green, gently rolling to about 15-feet from the hole. He is clearly warming up, getting into a groove, and the crowd is feeling it, cheering him on. Duval's second shot, in contrast, went low and very left, landing in a tree and falling into the rough under the shade amidst some fans.
Duval third shot from a decent lie in the deep rough looped high, landed with a high bounce, and rolled just 10-feet from the hole. Tiger, putting up a slight incline, took his third shot to inches from the cup, and Duval conceded him his birdie shot.
Duval then made his birdie putt, leaving Woods only 1-up after seven holes.
