Winston is one of those uber athletes who pass the eye test in a blink-of-an-eye. In football he is already labeled as the best quarterback prospect in the nation and was a Co-MVP at the prestigious Elite 11 Camp last summer. What he brings to the football field he also brings that to the diamond. A multi-position standout, Winston seems best suited for centerfield or on the mound.
At the plate, he is a switch hitter who has a long swing and good pop in the bat. He currently has pull power from the right side and more of a line drive stroke from the left side. In the field he has the speed to play centerfield and would have an above-average arm for the position.
On the mound he is not as advanced as the top pitchers in the nation when it comes to off-speed stuff due to more than half of his time being allocated to football, but he has the arm strength to match them. He currently hits the low 90%u2019s with his fastball. His off-speed pitches include a curve and a slider. Both currently are not far off to the top, but if he put full effort to refining his pitching he could have three potential solid pitches.
